Plot
After an assault that killed his wife, Leonard Shelby can no longer form new memories. He investigates her death using Polaroids, notes and tattoos as a substitute for recall. The film runs its colour scenes backwards and its black-and-white scenes forwards, so the audience is told the outcome long before the reason.
