A thief who steals secrets from dreams is hired to plant one instead. Directed by Christopher Nolan, released 2010.

Plot

Dom Cobb steals information from people by entering their dreams. Barred from returning home, he takes a job that reverses the method: instead of extracting an idea he has to plant one, several dream layers deep, in the mind of a corporate heir. The team he assembles has to hold the layers stable while Cobb's own guilt keeps breaking through into the shared dream.

Review, written by AI

A heist film built on rules the audience learns as the characters break them. The nested structure is the point, and the practical effects — a folding Paris street, a rotating corridor — keep it physical rather than weightless. Hans Zimmer's score does a great deal of the emotional work.
