Film 1995 IMDb 8.6 /10

Two detectives track a killer working through the deadly sins. Directed by David Fincher, released 1995.

Plot

Detective Somerset is a week from retirement when Mills transfers in. A murder scene built around gluttony turns out to be the first of seven, each staged as a sermon on a deadly sin. The killer is not caught so much as he arrives, and the last two sins have not been committed yet.

Review, written by AI

The film that established Fincher's register: rain, brown interiors, and procedure that leads somewhere worse than expected. The ending was fought over by the studio and is the reason the film lasted. Still one of the bleakest films a major studio has released.
