A Bachelor's degree in nursing is a three-year professional program that qualifies graduates for licensure as a nurse. Half of the program consists of practical training in the healthcare services.

Structure

The first year of study provides a foundation in anatomy, physiology, pathology, and basic nursing. The second and third years are organized around practical placements in municipal healthcare services, surgery, medicine, and mental health care.

Job opportunities

Nurses are in demand throughout the country. The education provides the basis for licensure from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

Admission requirements

General study competence with at least grade 3 in Norwegian (393 hours) and at least grade 3 in mathematics (common core subject).

A police certificate must be submitted at the start of the program.
